Oh arama...

So like, am I the only one not surprised by this? Of course Sho makes a lot of money. And like what one of the sane comments said, they really work for their money. It's pretty obvious why Sho makes more than the rest of Arashi: he's a newscaster, hello. And Nakai makes the most because he hosts like, idk, half of Japan's shows? Okay, maybe ( Read more... )

sho, arashi

I'm actually surprised they make that much, but not because of how much he works (because the man works his ASS OFF). I figured JE would have an IRON GRIP on the money. XD;

Everyone's hating on the fact that Arashi keeps releasing singles all the time. Like, um? Were you not paying attention to anything last year?
LOL FOR SERIOUS. I'm holding out hope for a full album this year. :D *fingers crossed*

XD Maybe there's a point at which they figure people will start noticing if they don't pay the boys a decent share? I do remember that when Sho was on Shokura Premium, Taichi made a comment about how the salary for being a newscaster was super high, and Sho, being Sho, just laughed it off.

DUDE. If there's no album this year, we need to stage a protest, for serious. I figure, one more single and then it's album time! Don't leave us hanging, JE!

I'm not surprised at all that Sho is up there. From what I understand, it's hard to become a newscaster in Japan and I imagine they're paid a handsome amount. Good for you, Sho-chan!

And yes, considering how much they all work, that sort of income is low compared to the ridiculous amount American celebrities make. If any of them were in celebrities the US, they'd be making that much doing maybe 1/3 of the work they're doing in Japan.

The constant single releases... That's one of my fears, that people would get sick and angry about it. Because as much as Arashi fans are loving it, I'm sure there's plenty of non-Arashi fans hating it. To be honest, if I wasn't an Arashi fan, I'd probably be a little annoyed. I also don't want them overworked.

I imgaine "To be free" will probably be coupled as a B-side with "Heart Game".

Seriously... I wish American celebrities got paid sane amounts. Maybe then they'd be more human, like Japanese celebrities (well, not all of them, but).

The thing is, I really don't think it affects any of the other groups all that much, it just seems like they're not getting as many singles because Arashi gets so many. And, idk, if people don't like Arashi, can't they just ignore them? I don't see the point in getting upset about it. :/ And, well, I think Arashi's been overworked for some time now. :/ Like Sho on Hanamaru Cafe, saying he gets like 4 hours of sleep a night... But they seem to be hanging in there okay and still enjoying themselves.

That's what I'm hoping for! ♥

I just wish the pay reflected their work. At least then it's fair.

I'm not saying that because Arashi is releasing more, other groups are releasing less; it's a large company and I'm sure they have the manpower to cover all their groups. But Arashi is kinda hogging all the attention and fame (and awards). And it's really hard to ignore them when they are literally everywhere.

But I agree that it's nothing to get upset about. Fame is fleeting and Arashi is just trying to take advantage of it while they can. You can't really blame them. And I'm so glad that they're not being cocky about it and letting all the popularity get to their head. That makes me really happy.

I'm predicting a May release.

I didn't mean to imply that you said that, it's just that other people have been saying that. :/ It is true that they're kind of saturating everything with Arashi right now though. But yeah, like you said, I love it that Arashi themselves haven't changed with their ridiculous popularity. It's too bad that some other stuff has changed though. Like, I'm sure their fame is the reason why Shukudai-kun is being replaced by a new prime-time show... I miss Arashi in their basement in their pointless, ridiculous show that got like 3% ratings, haha.

I wasn't surprised either. Sho has been doing quite a lot last year. PLUS the whole newscaster thing as well.
He seems to be doing quite a lot for the first half of this year, too. Although, he's starting to look a little bit tired. But if he's having fun, then it's all good. :)
I'm also not surprised about Nakai either.
I don't mind all the singles being released, but I also can't wait for a new album out. I hope they come out with one this year. *fingers crossed*

Things will probably calm down for him soon. It was kind of insane that he had to cover the Olympics while filming a drama though... But yes.

Seriously! There had better be an album. They're about due for one~

Haha, there's a reason why I didn't even bother to read the comments this time around xD

Well, we see a lot of singles because the album was a compilation last year. I'm sure they gonna come up with an album after Heart Game, JStorm won't miss the chance to make double money with one song :D

XD I hope you're right~ It still seems so weird to me that truth and Beautiful days and Believe and such aren't on a regular album, you know?

I look at 5x10 CD as one new album+compilation.. because I don't think it's wise for them to have 2 albums last year, it might affect 5x10's sales, and it's kinda redundant to release Truth, Beautiful Days, Believe and Ashita no Kioku twice in a year ne?

But looking at the amount of fans they have now, it'll only works for them and not for our pocket >.

Yeah... I mean, I sort of tried to think of it that way, but since it had no new songs and was just all the singles in order, it wasn't the same, you know? Although I do understand the reasoning behind it. Actually, before 5x10 was announced, I was seriously wondering what they were going to do album-wise, with so many singles and all.

Ugh, seriously. Arashi takes all my money. XD

I didn't think it was all that much really tbh. Given that they are major celebrities.. I suppose I was comparing it to most American celebs who don't have ebil ebil Johnny behind the scenes stealing earning most of the money which should be theirs :P

Maybe that's why lots of Johnny's still live with their parents to save on rent? Haha XD

Yay Arashi single!

Haha, yeah, pretty much. I think that most Johnny's probably make a fairly average amount of money.

XD Seriously. I think Sho finally moved out this year? And I bet Ohno still lives with his parents, haha.

:D
