Personality: Spike is an atypical vampire, having shown from the beginning of his unlife that he is prone to emotional attachment far more easily than others of his kind. Instead of killing his family after he was turned, he turned his mother so that she wouldn't die of tuberculosis. (This, however, backfired spectacularly; Spike couldn't handle the mocking thing that his mother had become upon turning and staked her.) His centuries-long attachment to Drusilla speaks to great capacity for loyalty, even as a soulless vampire. This sort of loyalty, though, can (and did) run closer to obsession in some ways.

Spike's emotions are intense and they run deep. Lacking real human interaction -- and molded into a soulless killer -- Spike often finds himself unable to express them in any sort of healthy way. Obsession -- or, aguably, love -- for Buffy became an attempt to rape her. To prove that Tara wasn't a demon, he punched her in the face; while effective, he didn't bother warning anyone what he planned and caused somewhat of a kerfluffle

Skills | Powers:
As a vampire, Spike has enhanced strength, speed, and a healing ability. He's adept in both armed and unarmed combat and demonstrates proficient skill in forms of martial arts. (Given all that, though, sometimes there's just nothing like an old-fashioned fist to the face.) Spike has been shown to use bladed weapons, stakes, and crossbows. He's perceptive and willing to adapt his fighting style mid-fight if what he's doing isn't working. He knows torture, having been both the one tortured and the torturer. He knows people and will needle an opponent into doing something stupid if he can manage it.

As analytical as he can be, though, Spike lacks patience and has been known to throw out any well-thought plan when things are just going too damned slow. He'll need reigned in, more often than not. As much as he tries to needle opponents into doing something rash, he can be easily manipulated into doing the same.
