*sitting outside of the X-Cabin, hands folded over his lap, peering into the trees and calling up*

The wind won't be a disturbance, up that high?

[ after a moment he appears at the edge of the roof, standing and looking down ]

It's not exactly a skyscraper.

Nevertheless, it's a rather non-traditional choice of lodgings.

If you're offering... I'm in your hands.

[ this is like the most horrifying trust exercise. I mean, it has layers.

you arrive on the roof miraculously unharmed. ]

*Charles's expression of impressed amusement and his white-knuckled hold on his chair might not seem to really match up, but both are sincere*

I could grow spoiled like this. Definitely beats taking the stairs.

I think that she would do well by the occasional push.

*releases one death-grip enough to let him rest his chin on his hand, elbow propped on the chair arm, thinking*

I was wondering... there's something I've been working on and I could use some suggestions...

[ looks at Charles for a moment before sitting down in the hammock, sideways. he doesn't sink down as far as one probably should in a hammock, and he leans forward with his elbows on his knees. ]

Obviously, given their abilities and situations, the children need somewhere to train. Somewhere geared toward them, both to allow them to really stretch themselves and also to minimize any unfortunate accidents, both for themselves and any bystanders. I'd had the idea for a while, just putting it together in my head, but I was able to- did you know that Howard Stark's son is here? And is older than both of us. Anyways, Tony Stark, I was able to go to him for the engineering of it. And I do believe that we are getting quite close with it. But it's just the tool. It needs the lesson plan. And the teacher.

Not that I have any doubts in my abilities to put my students through their paces, but everyone has their... limits. Will you help me?

[ this is distracted, and he doesn't say anything for a while afterward. ]

I'll think about it.
