What the World Eats

I found this incredibly fascinating!
What a striking contrast. It seems that the family from France spends the most. And of course the families from Mexico and Africa spend the least. The pictures are amazing.

What the World Eats, Pt. I

I have these books on my amazon list. One day! There is also one called "women in the material world" that is along the same vein that I like a lot. That one I have. The food ones, not yet.

I need to point out some things here. peachy_c February 18 2009, 01:29:44 UTC
Dude, the Germans spent $85 more than the Frogs. (Notice the couple dozen bottles of beer in there, by the way??? ;-)

Also, the Mexican family was right in the middle of the pack. The South American families still spent a little more than the African families.

This is totally off topic, but have you seen Everglades National Park yet, or is a trip to Florida in your future?

I have been to the Everglades.. but next up will be down to Dry Tortugas out past Key West. It looks awesome!

When I make it down there we should totally get together, even if it's just for lunch or something...;-)

Absolutely!! I would love that! Who knows, I could end up out your way in search of the illustrious cheese curds one of these days... :)
