Cat's Eye

Most mothers worry when their daughters reach adolescence, but I was the opposite. I relaxed, I sighed with relief. Little girls are cute and small only to adults. To one another they are not cute. They are life-sized.

I can see why people would like it but I really don't.

I do like the historical references to Toronto though, love Canadian history.

I am just reading it to finish it and see what happens.

I found this quote, and pretty much all the quotes I share, to be interesting. Not that I agree with them or anything like that.

really? Why don't you like it? Have you read her other stuff?

I'll tell you what I do like: I like how she creates symbols and weaves them through her writing, bringing them back again and again to illustrate a subtext that brings a depthness to her story. Now if only the subjects were shopping and boys.
