chlorine in bath water

This is the last thing I need:

Bath Ball Water Filter

Did you know that you absorb more chlorine from your bath and shower than your drinking water? Medical studies indicate that this can be harmful to your health. If you are filtering your drinking water to get the chlorine out, you should be filtering your shower and bath water as well!Read more... )

That product is retarded. People have been swimming in chlorinated pools for how long? I can see not drinking chlorine, but come ON, bath and shower water?

Don't let these people guilt you into anything. They are lying.

That product is retarded. lol :) While I can see the benefit, I can also see the benefit of only ever using water from melted glaciers. . .and it is a luxury I cannot financially or mentally afford.

Also, I thought later, that store is a bit of a rip-off. I've bought stuff from them (in person) that I later found elsewhere for half the price.

I also think the way they word things is a bit evil.

I think the stress of keeping up with everything that's bad for you is... bad for you. I went through a period where I was really sick all the time, and went a bit crazy looking for everything that could be bad for me. I found out what were the worst things, and let a lot of the other stuff slide a bit.

It's smart to keep an eye on what's going on around you, but being obsessed with everything-that way lies madness.

I totally agree!

I think I do a good job at staying somewhere in the middle. I am aware, and do consume mostly safe stuff (organic when it really matters, etc.).. .but so far have not become a raw organic vegan that lives off the grid, yadda yadda. Not that I haven't considered all those extremes! I guess when I read things like that, they kind of blow my mind. I also get stressed out SO easily. Then I swing with the blow and catch my breath :)

p.s. Also as someone who has tonnes of marketing experience, doesn't the text seem quite pernicious? The whole "should be" thing gets to me. argh.

I just think they know their market pretty well. You know, people who always feel they 'should be' doing more.

As a person who has both the shower filter and bath ball filter I can honestly say they work. Both my husband and youngest have bad excema and filtering the water has made a huge difference. You will also notice the smell of the water as well, when it is time to change the filter you can actually smell the chlorine. The replacements online are at par with GR as well. Though if you fine cheaper please do share!

Thank you for chiming in. I was thinking it could help me with my chronically dry skin, which V seems to have inherited. Plus I hate the smell of chlorine and seem to have become very sensitive to it, and any chemical smells actually (since a few years ago when I started to realize how many chemicals are in mainstream products.)

Wicked!

How many kids do you have? How old are they?

I don't post that often, but i'm trying to change that. It is somewhat of a hard habit to get back into.
