Friday was my birthday and I didn't even remember until I got a letter from my mum. I think most everyone else forgot, too, which is okay because, really, what do you get people for presents right now

Happy belated birthday, Anthony. They're easy to forget this year, aren't they? I turned 18 and didn't even think about it until I got a box full of half-eaten cake from Mum.

That ended up more depressing than I had intended.

Thanks, Mandy. It's weird because I remembered Padma's birthday earlier, but I don't know. It just slipped my mind until I had an owl from my mum wishing me a happy birthday.

Yeah, it is kind of depressing. Then again, isn't everything these days?

It's easy to remember others' birthdays this year, I think. I honestly didn't care about mine. I assume that at some point in the distant future, I'll regret not celebrating the fact that I'm 18, but I don't now.

Yeah, it is. Doesn't mean that we should bring the depression to ourselves, though. It's sort of like asking for disaster or something. No sense to it. I'm mixing my words of wisdom.

I don't think that I'll regret not celebrating it. I'll regret that it had to be like this.

I guess part of the reason it's so depressing is because I keep remembering last year. I should probably try to forget it.
