I have been told by my professor to try and brew something that won't burn a hole in her stomach. Whatever it is I am putting through the coffeemaker is not coffee, it's rocket fuel.

She sees it as black death.
I see it as life in a cup.

I am a few minutes from what will be the start of a grueling three day ordeal of putting up close to if not well over 100 art works into a very confined gallery space. This is the equivalent final for the art education program prior to student teaching.

I will easily consume twice my weight in caffeine to keep myself going until it is all over.

I think maybe if I can make a painting a week (or more), and donate it to either a VA Hospital, or a veteran's Museum, or to a veteran.... I think maybe that would be a legacy worth leaving behind.

This video made me feel pretty good. It also made me want to do more.

I think for the longest time, since I enlisted in the military, and now after deploying, I continue to have issues with being a veteran. I am constantly thrown drastically off guard by people wishing me a “Happy Veterans Day”. It always catches me by surprise, and then I feel somewhat embarrassed by the fact it caught me by surprise. Today in class, I gave a twenty minute presentation on Representations of Physical Disability in Society.
