Favorite song meme lifted from ehintz. If I put "none" next to a band, I must seriously loathe that so-called artist to the point where I couldn't even come up with one song I tolerate. If I put "N/A", it means I don't care about the artist enough to learn any songs ( Read more... )

Favorite Genesis song: none
Favorite Pink Floyd song: “Fat Old Sun”

The Pink Floyd song is an odd choice, especially if you don't like Genesis at all. I would think that a Fat Old Sun fan would also like Gabrial-era Genesis. You've heard Selling England From The Pound, right?

I suspect that you must be talking about the 14:23 minute version that they played on the BBC instead of the 5:22 minuate version on Atom Heart Mother. The last 9 minutes is the good part!

I don't know any Gabriel-era Genesis. I guess that means I should have put an "N/A" instead of "none" on that line.

As for "Fat Old Sun", it's been a long time since I heard the BBC version. When it comes to bands like PF, it's so difficult to choose one song that is my definite favorite - so I pick one that is my favorite of the moment. And when you have a wife who doesn't like PF (flames to jessica_420), sometimes you don't get a chance to listen to your favorite albums as often as you would like.

"don't know any Gabriel-era Genesis"

OMFG, I need to send you about 20 boxed bootleg Genesis CD's so you can figure out which 200-minute improg should be your favorite nominee.

So right about U2, decades of success and billions of dollars has not helped them write one freaking memorable tune. It all sounds like "with or without you" in different tempos.

What is with you and this UK-phobia? No results for the Cure, Depeche Mode, New order? Don't tell me now that in the 80's you only listened to Patti Smith and Dylan? LOL
