We are now in Kanchanaburi, staying on the river - literally, our room floats. Tomorrow we plan to go to Hellfire Pass which, according to Cam, is where the best and most worthwhile museum is. The day we arrived we didn't do much but met up with Matt in the evening and went to a big night market, and then out to dinner with Cam and his work people, by the end of which we were exhausted having arrived in Bangkok at 5am and having not slept all day. Our bus arrived in Bangkok at 5am, an hour early! So we wandered off to find somewhere for coffee, and then at just after 6am we got a tuktuk to Cam (Justin's Mum's friend)'s place. Hello, we have returned to the mainland and now have access to internet after 10 lazy days on Ko Jum (island). It was absolutely beautiful, and so quiet and peaceful. Apparently it is one of the few Thai islands that aren't over run with resorts and tourists. We paid 300 baht for a bungalow, which worked out at just over 1 quid each. We have arrived safely in Krabi, after 9hours travelling... But now we are staying in an incredibly nice and new and clean guesthouse. And there is a tiny little kitten who lives here and it's really small and cute. It's on Justin's lap at the moment, and it's so incredibly cute! We have named it Little Cat. We are about to leave Penang, just waiting for the mini-bus to pick us up and killing time, really. We were going to go to the Perhentian Islands, but have decided not to because it would be 11hours to get there, and then to move on to Thailand we'd have to come back here to Penang, so another 11hours back again. We are now in Penang. We spent two nights in a pretty grotty place called the Swiss Hotel which for some reason was recomended by the lonely planet. It was just incredibly miserable.
