how come your mom wants you to get a 2 bedroom/2 bath?

i was looking at 2 bedroom/2 parking and saw stuff starting at like $250K. of course this is like more country than Pearl City to have 2 parking.

we can't qualify for a loan right now so i was just kinda looking to get an idea. do we really need to be making about $3600/mo. damn... good to know.

I hate worrying about grown-up shit, but I suppose that's better than being 30 and worrying about teenage shit, right? Property taxes are ridiculous. They make me never want to own a house. I will try to send more mail to help boost USPS revenue! :)

hehe. thanks Julie. I love that you love the USPS. letters are so much more enjoyable when they're tangible. and if it's crappy mail you can always get the pleasure of burning it.

I do! It's my favorite government agency. Yup, snail mail is awesome. My friend Rachel refuses to take part in any social networking sites because she loves writing and receiving handwritten correspondence so much. I'm too scared of setting our place on fire to burn junk mail, but I can see how that could be very cathartic. :)

our place costed about 340...3 bdrm/2 bath...about 1400 sq. ft. our mortgage is under 2... they're building condos nearby here that's selling for 200 something...but slightly under 1000 sq. ft. it would help to have a partner to buy it with cause i wouldn't have been able to do this without dave's income too. i tried to qualify myself, but they wouldn't give me much. but together, we were able to do this. anyway, just some thoughts. let me know if you have more questions...dave and i can try to answer them.

that's another issue... location versus cost. I'll definitely choose to live in town. I can't deal with the cost of commuting from Kapolei to Kailua. and traffic sucks. but I'll probably hit you up with more questions when I get more serious.

I think if you can get more down (money from your mom? money saved up?), you don't need to apply for such a huge loan-- which helps the amount of income you need.

Same here, our house wouldn't be possible without dual income. If you can call what I have income... Also, I think there are calculators that figure out how much commuting costs balance out living costs (sometimes, it really doesn't save you money if you have to commute far).

also there are short sales (but who knows if that's worth it), and foreclosures... it would be pretty awesome to have your own place. you can paint the walls! anytime. any color.

last night I totally dreamt you bought a house in Moscow, Idaho. We were driving around in your old Buick when you told us, and you were excited cause you were gonna have a garage to put your car in. Only we were all like, yeah but your car is too big... they make garages small now days.
