my sister fell in a tide pool today
& my camera went with her.
So, it's dead. :(

Any suggestions on good cameras? digital.
I like canon. Preferrably 300 - 600 dollars.

yikes. the same thing just happened to me. my husband and i were in a canoe that tipped and my camera was in my pocket. fortunately, he has a really nice one that we didn't bring with us.

he has one of these. they're pretty spendy but you can find them refurbished or used in your price range. he got his on ebay for a good price and it's GREAT.

my dad uses a canon elph that falls in the lower end of that spectrum - i wish i could be more specific but it's been a long time since i've used it. they have some really great ones out there now though, it seems - high megapixels, but not TOO expensive - i'm sure there are some good ones in that range.

i'm sorry to hear about your camera :-(

I have a Canon PowerShot S410 (ELPH). I enjoy its compactness. If I were willing to get something a bit bigger, I could get better optical zoom, sensitivity, and manual focus control.
