 So, Steven and I ended the summer on a good note.  An intimate barbecue with pookieyamamama , barito  and sidonay , and then special surprise guest digital_trey !  Well, he wasn't a surprise to me, but it was his birthday and I invited him up without telling anyone (except Steven).  It was a great surprise - and he didn't know I did it in honor of his birthday!  Surprises all around.

what's best is that i knew i didn't have to be 'on' yesterday and it was so beautiful just being there.

I second this, what beautiful weather(well after the hurricane) and for me it really is the last vestiges of summer as the students return to school tomorrow and a nother work year begins. I am deeply saddened by the end of another summer- summer here brings out community and socializing and neighbours popping by, bbqs and swimming and beach days. Seeing friends, making the most of the nice weather- and now.....the run up to winter begins and everyone hunkering down in their own corner. I love autumn its the heading into winter part I hate.
