I agree with all you wrote, I did like some scenes, however this episode was as bad as a feared. I will never understand the writers need to make Clark less then he his for the sake of other characters, I used the fast forward button on this episode quite a lot maybe that is why I hated a little less then you did. I did not understand Lois's point of view about hiding in the shadows it seemed too Chloe to me. Infamous is where I think Lois would actually stand. I never really cared for Kara in Smallville but did like her and Clark's relationship and now I don't even have that. The Less I say about Iron Man (Oliver) the better.

I know how you feel. I used to feel the same way - confuzzled beyond belief. But lately I've just come to accept that as inexplicable as it may seem to us, Clark juat isn't TPTB's top priority character. How sad is that.

Heh, that's a good way to go with SV sometimes!

I agree almost word for word with everything you wrote. This one really boggles the mind. :/

You're right, it does boggle the mind - until you step into the mindset of these idiot showrunners who, let's face it, and ther history and track record speaks for itself - just don't value and respect Clark as a character. The fact that they don't see him as the central focal point of the show (which he is and ought to be) but instead just 'one of the characters' - says a lot about the quality of their product at times.

//Everything else however, especially Kara, sucked. She rubbed me the wrong way the minute she showed up until the minute she left.//

There was just nothing redeeming about her appearance this ep. Which is sad, because inspite of all my issues with bringing her on as a character in S7, I had come to accept her towards the end and I absolutely loved her in 'Bloodline.'

And you're right about the FX - they definitely fell back on the cheap stuff in this one.

Oh man, I haven't gotten to my review yet, but we are so sharing the brain this week.

HATED IT! Every bit as awful as I feared, and in some ways, worse.

I think there might be only 1 scene in this whole episode that I was OK with, and thats the one between Lois and Godfrey in the church. I disliked every single other scene in the episode. Some because I don't care, which would be anything that Oliver in it. And some because they were flat out exploitive and moronic, i.e. fetish club. And then most of the others because they were aggravting, insulting to Clark, or just plain flat as a pancake (thats the Clois reunion? *snores*).

I guess we just need to accept that when Clark puts on the suit, and flies to the rescue, instead of people looking up in the sky in awe, they'll all be "Oh look, another one...". I know that makes 10 years of watching the show seem so worth it....NOT.

About sums it up. What a giant FU to Clark fans.

This is easily amongst yhe worst eps of the entire series. Certainly the worst 3rd ep of any season. Even 'Fierce' was better than this. ::shudders::

And it was all ultimately so pointless. That's what makes it even worse.
