How was Clark able to bleed in Lionel' presence in their first scene? It looked to me like there was Blue Kryptonite on the end of Clark's foil. It's kind of hard to tell with the washed out color in the scene but I think that's what they were trying to get across with the close-up of it and the fact that Clark looked at the tip.
Thanks. :-) And ITA, that Cless scene there at the end was something special.
My only concern with the Lionel development is how they're going to fit in all their villains, with just the second half now left. We have the clones, Darkseid (GG, Godfrey, Desaad), Suicide Squad and now Lionel too.
I think I may have read this scene completely wrong, heh. Basically I took it as our!Clark' first admission in the AU to have to return home, and that triggered by the realization that this Lois and him (the AU him) share no love. I read it as if that was the only thing that triggered his admission to have to return home, and not the fact that in this AU, his self is a murderer too. Whereas I felt it would be a combination of factors, which is why I thought a "I can't live in a world where you don't love me, or where I'm some kind of a ruthless killer" would've worked better.
But yes, if it's a promise from him to his Lois, then it makes sense, and is actually kinda beautiful, if not a little poignant, from AU!Lois' side. After all, she will never have Clark Kent, and will have to settle for second best.
Yeah, I rewatched this last night, you're right. I found that part of the ep flowed much better this time around - I picked up on Clark' urgency to return more than I did the first time.
There were some misteps with our!Clark' characterization too - I hated his "Luthor blood is poison" line, and couldn't believe that it took Tess to remind him, "whatever happened to everyone getting a second chance." I didn't like the teaser much at all. Clark was OOC with blanket condemnations of Luthors and whipsaw accusations against Tess without giving her a chance to explain herself. And then using the mirror box without taking a moment to figure out what it does? Dumb. And Tess I thought was OOC too. What happened to the great liar who could fool Zod? I assume CF was trying to show that in this case Tess feels bad about the lies. But still.
I cannot imagine him as this murderer, sans conscience, and it's a sad testament to how TPTB see him, no matter how or what the incarnation. This will never stop being an irritant to me, I can't help it.That's my other sticking point with this episode. I think I could by AU!Clark killing Lex given the Luthor dynamic. But I don't think picture even full out evil Lex blood thirsty enough to

Some people can and do and unplug from work in their time off while others don't. Lois seems like one of those who have a hard time truly unplugging. She's been willing to take work calls during birthday parties and in the middle of making out with her boyfriend.
Dissing Tess for a latte hit me more like a matter of Lois just not wanting to talk to Tess than a matter of not wanting to talk work.
