Felt well and recovered enough to actually have my private students in today. After not seeing them for three and a half weeks there was a lot of catching up to do even before we took out our instruments!

Lessons went well. I snapped right back into teacher mode like nothing had happened and no time had passed.

Got dressed up this morning and drove over to the Walgreen's for some stuff, then walked along the plaza (with my walker) and popped into Rocco's Pizzeria for lunch ( Read more... )

Last week I was all set to Solo at home while John went back to work. Made it through Monday but come Tuesday afternoon: fever hit. Wednesday: fever and diarrhea. Thursday: fever and diarrhea. My first day alone at home had it's ups and downs. To start, I had a bad and achy night the night before, so Rising and Shining didn't happen. Okay, slow start. Felt better after a dose of painkillers. Looks like I can't give them up quite yet.

Here it is folks, 2 1/2 weeks since surgery and tomorrow John goes back to work from his 3 week leave. He "leaved" to stay home with me post op, and now the time is up. He heads back to computerland and I have to stand on my own. (pun, I know ( Read more... )

Our female greyhound, Poppy, passed unto the Goddess this afternoon while she lay in John's and my arms. We thank the Goddess for the short time she was part of our family.

Today's big news: Ellie, the PT, released me from physical therapy! I am done! Just have to keep up with the exercises and walking protocols until I see the surgeon on the 31st. Because of the years of walking with a crippled hip, the knee and ankle are out of alignment so he may prescribe out patient PT at a facility to correct and strengthen the ( Read more... )

Yesterday the Physical Therapist graduated me to using a cane in the house! I still have to use the walker out of the house for now. I am really liking that walker thing! very handy little carry basket, a chair where ever I go. People see you coming and open doors. I could really get to enjoy this ( Read more... )

here I am, sitting on an ice bag. It has been one week to the hour since they began my hip replacement surgery. Got home on Saturday after a couple of blood transfusions helped stablize my hemoglobbin. Physical Therapy started on Monday so three times a day I have a routine followed by sitting on ice for 40 minutes ( Read more... )
