we moved up to birmingham, al in 2006. the "living together" was supposed to be temporary, but for various reasons it went on for a year, and we gradually deteriorated to hostile roommates. i subsequently bought a townhouse and moved out, and he got his own place and things got better ( Read more... )

I apologize, it appears I misread.

I got the impression that there was conversation going on, that despite things being quite difficult, coupled with a kind of 'blargh' moment where he breaks up with you, both of you were still talking.

To me, there's no reason things can't work out under such circumstances but it appears that this isn't the case and I look a bit like a dumbass.

Again; sorry about that. I don't mean to salt the wound with some kind of platitude.
