Other than that I refuse to grow up, pretty much for the same reason as why I didn't often act like a kid when I was one.

I love this. I often feel the same way.

I had to Google the punchline. I could sense that it was a pun from the build-up and general format, but I was entirely unfamiliar with ELP (and on the off chance that it was a true story, I was intrigued by the possibility). Well done, nevertheless!

Speaking of well-done, I know well that fervor you can get from books, such as fear of being flame-broiled by a dragon. I'm often amazed at how much a really good writer can suck you into the action, and Rowling excels at that. I couldn't stop sobbing (or stop reading) at the end of Deathly Hallows. Have you tried Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games series yet? It has many similarly intense scenes, and it's equally hard to put down. It can be darker in a lot of ways, although the final few HP books come close or are equal in darkness.

No, I haven't read that yet. Thanks for the tip! I really need to get my carcass over to the library more often...

Terrific work! This is the type of information that should be shared around the web. Shame on the search engines for not positioning this post higher!
