So, while browsing around various LJs, I sometimes snoop into the user info and see the following entry under schools

You're right, Hogsmeade School doesn't exist, but Hogwarts "does" :P

I'm guilty of listing Hogwarts as my school (maybe it was my user info you were browsing) but meh I find it fun. Don't care to list my high school and that info as of yet.

someone putting it down as a joke is one thing... some people go on to talk about which "House" they are in, and how much they like Ron / Hermione / Harry / hate Slytherin / hate Gryffindor and so forth.... AND THEN THEY WRITE FAN FIC.

Lots of people have fictional stuff in their userinfo. Lots of what you read on the web is fictional. I thought a man of your experience would be used to it.

There is a difference, though... these are the people who tend to perpetrate... *shudder*.... FANFIC... MARY SUE fanfic.. and sometimes... SLASH FANFIC.

Even worse... Mary Sue Slash Fanfic!
