I used to have a protege on "The Island".  We were very close for a few years after her son was born, and she named me the godfather to her kid. Along the way (2003) , her parents (the grandparents of the son) concluded (wrongly) that I had given the protege bad advice and cut off all contact with me.  A couple of years later in 2005, she stopped

facebook answer: check the school's web site to see if they mention what kind to get. At the least, call the school to see what they can tell you.

Someone this young should get a simple machine that can take a beating. I'm really surprised that they really want kids this small to own a 'puter.

Kid is really really smart. He may have made up the requirement and fed it to Dad somehow. (grin).
