This morning on Broadway I passed a woman waiting at a bus stop not five minutes away from Sullivan Square.   She was waiting for a bus to Sullivan and must have been anxious about getting there, as she was PEERING DOWN THE STREET WITH BINOCULARS to see if the bus was coming. 

Words that Facebook's Scrabble application, "Scrabulous," would not let me use to beat Talia in our 2am deathmatch, and my justifications for trying to play them:

-eq (emotional quotient?)
-ey ("Ey, how you doin'?")
-exegis (when a large group of people leaves a place, prompting the birth of something new) 
-weems (a farm tool)
-sexit (sexy exit)

On the bus, idling in Davis Square.  A group of happy protesters hold signs that say "IMPEACH BUSH & CHENEY" and "HONK TO IMPEACH" and wave at all the cars honking their way through the intersection.

Woman inside bus: "Impeach"... "Impeach..." I can't read that.  [A minute goes by.]  What's that say?  "Impeach"... "Impeach Bush"?  I can't read ( Read more... )

A young, attractive man draped over a car sized me up on my street and said, "You single?"  Moments later, an old, bloated man sitting inside a van called to me: "Three dolla hats!  Three dolla hats?"

A toddler comes through security at the Tampa airport wearing swirly multicolored Crocs, pink pants, glasses, and seriously disheveled hair.  She jumpkicks and shouts, "Llllllllet's KICK IT!" over and over.*
