Approaching the library, he can tell even at a distance that Riku's still Riku, in that sense anyway. Ansem is taller, broader, and his presence just feels different, for lack of a better word. The Darkness is a part of those who wield it just as much as they are a part of it, and it leaves a particular imprint on every one of them; a 'smell', as Zexion had always liked to call it. Riku is still Riku--he doesn't reek of that fierce, pedigreed tyranny the way Ansem and Xemnas do ( ... )

Truth be told, he's starting to wonder if he'd celebrated Ansem's disappearance too soon. Ah, well. Keeping that hood up even after the comment. Though a smirk is barely visible underneath it as he nods in greeting as well.]

So what happened, exactly? I mean, I understand well enough why junior would want a piece of Xemnas, but what made him think he would stand a chance is what I don't quite get.

[He looks down and away, annoyed more than anything right now. Why... and using his name for the first time, no less.]
From my vantage point, I believe mini-me decided to jump Xemnas at the amusement park while he was out for a walk. Xemnas wasn't fighting back at first, more annoyed by the attacks before he began to take the assault seriously. I tried to stop the fight before it got out of hand, but... well. You know how stubborn they both can be.

Stubborn's a good way to put it. Admittedly I don't know the Re-- er... Caden, is he calling himself? I don't know him that well; our relationship was strictly business, you see. [He quirks his mouth.] I guess technically it's the same with Xemnas, but I've known him long enough to know him well by now. And I know him well enough to know I sure as hell wouldn't take him on by my lonesome.
I would'a figured he'd be more pissed at Vexen than Xemnas, but I guess Vexen ain't here, so... you take what you can get.

[He releases a sigh, before nodding as well before recrossing his arms. Yes... Caden. An interesting name choice, that much was certain - probably trying to distance himself from the real thing as much as he could.]
I'm an outsider and still wouldn't take him on alone. Though, that's just it. No matter how many times he says "I'm you" is all a lie, just like most of what he remembers from back home. From what I figured just by saying Vexen's name... he doesn't know of the connection, anymore. Though, I can't say for sure if that's why he decided to channel it all on Xemnas, so...
It's all just plain messed up. ...Who was it that ordered his memories to be rewritten, anyway?

Axel quirks his mouth a bit at Riku's question, and absently scratches his cheek.]
Well, it was mostly Vexen's idea; the whole Replica Project was his favorite hobby, really. From what I heard, he had a whole slew of other replicas, too, but it wasn't somethin' I really cared to think about. [He folds his arms.] Vexen and Larxene did it, even if I was there to watch. [No sense lying about it, really. He provided the memories in the card, but Riku doesn't need to know that part.]

Almost makes you wonder what he planned on doing with them. [He pauses, contemplating it. So then, at least one of them responsible for it was here. If he could even care about it right now, he'd probably plot to kick Larxene's ass for it. But no, still too numb to think about it.] I see. Wonder what will happen when he remembers that little bit of info.
