It's November! Time to start thinking about.... Dragoncon!! Hahahaha. We're going back obviously, and we've already started hashing out ideas for costumes and also room reservations. Concerning the latter, apparently the host hotels are already sold out? A lot of people are of the opinion that this is due to football fans stealing room rate ( Read more... )

So Atlanta was SHOCKINGLY comfortable? Possibly because it was September, but mostly because it's possible to get to 85% of the con without leaving indoors because of the skywalks. I also wore a fucking fleece coat in August in Baltimore. >XP Suffer for cosplay!

Aaaahhhhhh, can I pleasepleaseplease play, too? That final sketch is fantastic! (Unless the group gets really big and you need another zombie...)

You know that Greg and I would offer to share our hotel room at D*Con... but I wouldn't inflict a 4+ month-old baby on anyone not its parents. Still, the shower will always be available.

Oh god! You have no idea how relived I am to see that I'm not the only one ALREADY planning next years D*Con costumes!

Also these designs look completely awesome! I love love love them! I totally see these costumes being made in all camouflage colors with artful blood splatter, and patina brass accents (what were you thinking I wonder?). Though you need more people to be zombies for you to beat up, I may be volunteering ^_^ we’ll see.

I was thinking of going as a character from a great painting perhaps the princess from “The Apparition” by Gustave Moreau but that depends on my I managing to have flat abs by next September and how brave I’m feeling in the interim. I have a back up less crazy plan of the “Girl With the Pearl Earring” by Johannes Vermeer or maybe “Liberty Leading the People” By Eugène Delacroix but you know not actually being topless. I don’t know yet I’m just in the mood to do some thing really different.

I haven't started thinking about colors yet actually! We definitely need to be tied in together, probably in more earthy tones, but people can obviously have their own say in things. XP

Holy crap I LOVELOVE Liberty Leading the People so much... probably because I actually got to see the thing right after I finished reading Les Miserables in 7th grade. What would you do about THE BEWB though! XP

I think I've figured out how to be "topless” but not. We sell a bathing suit liner at Jo-Ann's that looks just like skin, a little paint on that to create shadows and it would look fine in photos (I think).

Also I was thinking your team really is going to need some zombies to beat up, and I love making overly complicated dresses so I could make a costume that could be a steam punk person one day and the next be converted to a zombie it would be two costumes in one! (A money saver, except probably not) . Let me know what you think.

Totally snazzy idea! XP I was planning on doing something similar maybe so that if I ever want the dress for anything else I can use it. The one question is how to get some fake blood on there without ruining it... I'm wondering if there's some water-washable types of paint out there or something. Hmm.

omgPLEASE go as steampunk zombie hunters....PLEASE. Because it is just too awesome for words, especially the captures zombie, and I totally see you in that because you love WEARING CRAZY SHIT. A++

So, its a sure thing that I will be dragging my ass over that way at *some* point next year, I do not yet know when...but I should have the money to swing it. I thought about landing my visit on a convention but I don't know if my relatives would allow me to visit that side of the country and NOT visit them. Only visiting them will take lots of driving about out to them and just...ugh, I love them, but dude. I dunno, EITHER WAY - I WANT PICTURES OF AWESOME ZOMBIE STEAMPUNK.
