Maible said her goodbyes to Ash and Ed quickly - it wasn't like she wouldn't be seeing them at Hogwarts, anyway, so it really wasn't a big deal for her like it was for some students.

She was looking forward to this year. The summer had been really great and.. apparently she was a Prefect now! She grinned down at the badge that was already pinned to her clothing. Between that and getting to hang out with David all summer and spending so much time with Ash and Ed and the whole family..

Maible was pretty happy right about now, as she made her way down the platform, getting ready to board.

David had spent quite a lot of time with Maible over the summer. Too much, if he was to be perfectly honest with himself. He'd been so caught up in Jeremy and Maible that he hadn't even cracked a book. It was worth it, though. He'd had one of the best summers of his life and was sort of dreading leaving it behind.

His mother, father and Jeremy had come to see him and his younger brother off, so, it had taken him a little longer than normal to get off of the platform and onto the train.

Once he'd managed it, he'd boarded without stopping to look around. The cool looks that had passed between his father and mother had been enough to last him the year and he definitely didn't want to catch any more of them.

Lucky him, he was one of the first to enter the Prefects car and he basically plopped down next to the window and took a moment to compose himself. Silly parental drama. He'd never one thought that his mother had been in love with his father but, apparently, she was angry that they were no longer together. How did that make any

Maible slipped into the Prefects' car not long after David did and her face broke out into a soft smile when she saw him sitting there. Honestly, you'd think they'd be tired of one another by now, but she was really, really glad to see him!

"Hey," she greeted him softly as she set her trunk to the side and took a seat on the bench next to him. Not too close, of course, but close enough to be able to talk quietly.

If he wanted to talk, that is. It occurred to her that maybe he was tired of her after spending so much time together over the summer months and maybe she was intruding now, which made her blush slightly, but.. she was a Prefect now! She had to be in here, too..

She tried to make the blushing just go away as looked down at her jeans, brushing away an imaginary piece of lint.

David had been staring out the window and had been well lost in his thoughts as Maible entered and put her trunk away. If he'd realized, if he'd been paying attention, he would've jumped to help her. As it was, he didn't even really notice that someone had joined him in the compartment until she'd sat down and greeted him.

"Hey," he grinned as soon as his eyes landed on her. She was already blushing and even he couldn't deny that it was rather attractive when her cheeks flushed like that.

"Ready to go back to school?" he asked as he cocked his head to the side so that he could get a better look at her face.

Most people were under the impression that he was a shy guy. He wasn't. He was just quiet. It came from years of living with the other Pitt men in his family. They were all loud, boisterous Slytherins. He was the quiet Hufflepuff.

That time of year again... and this time, Darin wasn't boarding the train and riding off to Hogwarts. It was a little surreal, really. He wasn't used to the idea, despite the fact that he'd already begun his Auror training, not too long ago.

And the part of the summer before he'd started his training? Had been spent with the girl standing next to him, of course. The girl who was about to ride off to Hogwarts without him, to spend an entire year away from him.

Darin was pretty sure he wasn't okay with this concept, though of course there was nothing to be done about it.

Reaching over, Darin took Sam's hand and gave it a little squeeze. "Don't stress yourself out about NEWTs too much with no one there to make sure you're not killing yourself, okay? They aren't that bad, I swear..."

Chewing the inside of her cheek lightly, Sam ran one of her hands up and down her arm, frowning a bit as she did so. It was a day that any other year she'd be excited about and look forward to... this year? Not so much. Oh, she was excited about school itself, especially considering she was Head Girl this year... but it was the leaving part that was horrible.

A year. She was going to be gone for a year. Of course, there were breaks from school, like Christmas and Easter, but that was still a ways off and not nearly enough time.

Sighing a little when he took her hand, she bit down on her bottom lip lightly and nodded before looking over at him. "... yeah," she finally said as she nodded just a little, shuffling her feet as she did so. "I think I'll be fine? Schoolwise, anyway." It was a bit of a lie, of course, because they both knew how she got... ah, well. "It's just going to be really strange."

Darin wasn't fooled for a minute about how she got about school, but that wasn't the point in his asking anyway -- nothing that he said would change that, because it was simply who Sam was.

And he loved who Sam was.

When she said it was going to be strange, though, he sighed, and moved so that he could wrap both of his arms around her, rather than just holding her hand. "I'm going to miss you like crazy," he told her, simply because it was the truth.

"But we're going to be fine."

When his arms went around her, she relaxed almost immediately, closing her eyes a bit as she rested her head against his chest. "I'll miss you too," she said quietly, her own arms going around him. "I'll write, of course, but it won't be quite the same, will it?"

See, of course, she knew that. She knew it. There was no real reason to worry because, sure, the distance would suck, but... they had a good relationship. Had been having one for months now, in fact, so she was perfectly aware of the fact things would be fine. She couldn't help the nagging and tugging feeling that just bothered her, though. After everything that had happened, though... she really didn't like the idea of being so far apart for so long.

"I know," she finally said as she pulled back just a bit to look at him, smiling weakly. "It's just... I don't know. I'm not worried, it's just... not seeing you for so long. Not having
this. It's going to be hard."

Ellie made her way down the long corridor of the train after exiting the Prefect's car. She was looking for her twin, but she hadn't spotted her, yet, and she was wondering if she should maybe just take a seat somewhere else - anywhere, really. It wasn't like she hadn't spent the entire summer with Emma. Hearing all about Alex, no less. Ugh.

She didn't want to think about that, about how that jerk had her sister completely fooled, so she pushed the thought away, before she got any more angry about things and focused on just finding somewhere to sit, poking her head into a nearby compartment and looking around to see if anyone else was inside.

Louis had his nose buried in his sixth year Herbology textbook, devouring a chapter that covered the topic of dangerous plants with helpful attributes -- Devil's Snare potions, things of that nature. He had hardly paid any attention to the train ride thus far, but when the door to his compartment slid open and that pretty head poked in, he nearly dropped the book altogether.

"Hi! Hello, hey."

Smooth. Really smooth.

He ran a hand through his hair nervously, then gestured with his book to the empty seat across from him. Well, almost empty. His shoes were there. Which was not cool, nor very appealing. They probably smelled. Oh God, did the compartment smell like feet?

"Shoes!" he cried, grabbing them quickly and hugging them to his chest, before scrambling to catch his book that was quickly sliding off the seat beside him. "You can sit, Ellie!"

Someone curse me now, please.

Ellie lifted an eyebrow when he dove for his shoes, thinking that a little bit odd, but she gave one more glance down the corridor (as if Emma would magically appear) before nodding her head and moving into the car.

"Okay," she agreed as she moved to stow her trunk before slipping into the seat he'd just cleared for her. "I was looking for Emma, but she must be.. someplace else, obviously," she said, giving a little shrug as she leaned back in the seat.

"What are you reading?" she added conversationally after a slightly awkward pause, leaning forward to get a better look at his book.

"HERBOLOGY."

Louis answered so quickly that one might think that he'd been threatened with torture should he delay his response. It was even a tad squeaky, as his body was tight with tension.

He cleared his throat, then attempted to act as if it were a tickle or something equally as lame that had made him sound like a four year old. "Uh, Herbology," he repeated, a bit more masculine this time. She was leaning forward a little, and he could smell her hair.

Merlin, why did girls have such pretty-smelling hair?

"Er... Excited?" he asked, perking up a bit. "...About going back to school??"

Duh.

Prefect! She'd been made a prefect! The fact still surprised Annie like crazy, but she was absolutely thrilled. It was exciting! After saying goodbye to the rest of her family, she had boarded the train with Emily, forgetting for a moment that she was supposed to go to the Prefects' car.

The Prefects car! It was still weird to think about, but she made her way their anyway, a bright grin on her face as she headed inside. It was going to be a great year, wasn't it? She wasn't even dreading O.W.L.s like she thought she would. Hopefully, hopefully, things would keep going well, right? Nevermind the fact it was only the first day, the summer had been... well, bad, but concluded excellently... maybe that good streak would stay. Maybe.

Boarding the Hogwarts Express: check.

First order of Bailey Business? Finding Felicity -- not that it was difficult. She had shoved her trunks into some compartment, not too concerned about where they ended up, and had set off to find her roommate immediately.

Which would lead to the second order of Bailey Business: find Annie and steal her badge. Since Annie had to be the Prefect -- who else would they have chosen? And she wanted that badge. She wanted it in a bad way. Why, she had no idea, but she MUST HAVE IT.

So when she spotted Felicity she got a rather wicked grin, signaling the other girl immediately. "Seen our dear friend Annie yet?" she asked, quirking an eyebrow in a way that expressed the fact that she definitely had something up her sleeve!

Felicity lit up when she spotted one of her best friends coming toward her, shaking her head from side to side, the odd assortment of different sides braids moving about wildly.

"Oh, not, yet, but I'm sure we'll find her SOON," she said, her own lips curving into a wicked grin. Her thoughts were along the same line as Bailey's - Annie HAD to have gotten Prefect.

Not that she wanted the badge for herself. Oh, no.. responsibility and power so weren't her thing. But she intended to have fun with it, all the same.

"She's probably in the Prefect's car already," she suggested, "annoyingly on time and all."

Tucking her long blonde hair behind her ears, Annie scurried into the Prefect's car, a bright smile on her face. Her badge was on the front of her robes which she'd managed to keep tidy and clean, thank you, and she couldn't stop herself from bouncing around excitedly. She hadn't seen her roommates yet... and she never really knew if that was a good or a bad thing. She loved them, she really did... but she also knew being around them meant that chaos and insanity was nearby.

Sighing a little, she smoothed her skirt out as she sat back in her seat and waited for... whoever to come and talk to her.

Prefect! Even after last year, the novelty of it still hadn't worn off. Victoria took the job seriously, of course, and she really did love it - helping out the teachers, making sure the younger students got settled alright. She had to admit that the badge looked nice on her robes, too.

She'd said her goodbyes to her family and was making her way through the train entrance now, looking around for anyone she knew - Millie or Nicky or maybe Sam.. she didn't know, but it would be nice to just catch up with her friends. Even ones she'd seen over the summer.

She'd definitely miss being home, having time to read whatever she wanted and spending time with family, but she was really looking forward to sixth year, too!

Unlike Victoria? Yeah, Nicky couldn't believe that the school officials had decided that he should be a prefect. Of course, he could be responsible when he had to be and when the situation called for it... but, really? Him? Holding a position of power? Someone must've had a little too much firewhiskey when that decision had been made.

He couldn't complain, however, because he loved helping people. He really did. It was just... strange. Still, after attaching the badge to the front of his robes, he couldn't help but look at it and chuckle. Now. Now to find someone he knew, someone he liked....

Victoria!

His grin widened when he saw her and he pushed his way through the crowd to catch up with her. "Victoria!" He called out as he waved an arm. "Hey!"

"Nicky!" Bri's smile was accompanied by a slight blush as she turned her head to see the boy coming after her. She slowed her walk so that he could catch up, tucking her long brown hair behind one ear.

"Hey!" she greeted him happily. It was good to see him.. again, as usual. She still couldn't help blushing like crazy whenever he was around, of course, but they'd spent enough time together over the summer that she could actually almost speak around him now, at least.

"How are you?" she asked conversationally, once he got close enough that she could speak at a normal volume.

Nicky's dimpled grin widened as his strides become a little longer to catch up with her. Sure, they'd spent a lot of time together over the summer, but that didn't mean he was any less pleased to see her. "Hi," he repeated with a bright grin as he slipped one hand into his pocket. "I'm pretty fantastic, actually, and... well. School. Not my favorite place, but it'll be a lot of fun."

Grinning down at her, he raised both brows a little before tilting his head to the side. "You? I've missed you."
