I actually don't think so. I've only seen one season of Glee so far, and found it entertaining but mediocre, and definitely nowhere near the standard of Heroes S1 (few seasons of anything are). Admittedly it's a different genre, but I've found many more instances of cringe-worthy writing in Glee than in Heroes, though the article does make good points about their similar failings.
but, more importantly - regardless of show quality I love, love, love Heroes fandom, and it's inspired me to write so many fics and make so many friends. Whereas Glee fandom has never interested me in the slightest.
Uh, I don't know. I don't really agree because Glee and Heroes are such different types of shows, they can't really be compared. I always see Glee as having "crisis of the week" type of issues (except the ongoing ones, such as the pregnancies or competitons) that are solved in one episode and then everyone's happy and they sing about it, where Heroes was more of a thing that built and everything continued to the next problem in the ongoing plot.
I love both shows dearly, and they are both good, but they...just are different.
I also don't see Sue as the Big Bad though, that's more Vocal Adrenaline IMO.
First off, Glee used the fake pregnancy during season 1. So that isn't a crazy idea they threw in after their fantastical first season.
I also don't think Heroes used it's guest stars quite in the same way that Glee uses theirs. Heroes kind of integrated them into the show (actually made them characters) for the most part while Glee makes a spectacle of most of their guest stars.
Almost everyone thinks very highly of Heroes' first season, they say it was fresh and inspirational. But Glee's first season? I don't think so. Personally I think it's very overrated and I don't understand why people like it that much. But hey, that's me. Well, this person could have picked another show with a "perfect" season one and not so perfect other seasons. IMO Glee doesn't make sense.
