I haven't suffered a major calamity either. It actually took me awhile to get into the book...I thought the first few chapters were pretty standard of a novel. I love the author's intention, but it was mainly little paragraphs or certain pages that stood out to me -- mainly the relational aspect of God. Some explanations were really helpful...such as how we aren't the judge of good and evil, the whole Trinity thing, and God's sovereignty. It sounds bad, but for being a "Christian" book I thought it was extremely well-written.

If you liked that, try reading "So You Don't Want To Go To Church Anymore."
It's from the same ministry and it can turn you on your ear.
