First, because it's not clear, I hope you're not writing off the idea of never spending the rest of your life with someone. However, I find it insightful that you have realized that you've been dating 100 mile types. I think you're realizing you need another nomad.
I, too, am a nomad, but I have modified my nomadic ways. See, the reason why people are so drawn to being 100 miles is because family is such a powerful, supportive thing. You can get much the same effect by living in a strong community, but many don't know how to form community, so they choose (I would venture unconsciously) to say with the default community. I, however, have a nomadic family and have found that my wanderings have crossed paths with others in my family. This is wonderful.
By the way, I heard a fact and I have no source to back it up, but that some large percentage, like 90%, of all people in the US live within 50 miles of the place where they were born.
^^ My family would fit that! Except me, and perhaps one sister. But extended family would fit that, even. I can't imagine...
I've already responded in Facebook. But I wanted to let you know I've decided to post the response in my own blog, and as such have quoted you. I didn't link it here b/c I didn't know how you'd feel about it... so if its ok/you want me to, I will. If its not, and you want me to take it down, I can do that too. Or I can do neither and let let it be... :) Just let me know...
Honey you make some good points in this post. I don't think I qualify as either. Sure my mom wished I lived in the same town as her again, but she knows I have to stand on my own, and Chicago is the place where I can do that right now.
I am sorry I wasn't able to come to church, I needed to rest and I am starting to feel better. I hope you had fun! :-) Love ya.

your place of birth is not your choice and says nothing about you (except as it relates to family of origin)
i settled where i am by choice- i liked it-
but at 55+, as i have grown, i may be moving on
community begins in the heart- grows thru hands- and is sustained by communial memory-
bless you as you continue to grow- and experience life-
