An Update on Updates
I had someone tell me this week that I am long-overdue for an update here. Then I had to remind them that I do not post here anymore, but rather I have a new blog (and have for 6 months) over on blogger. New blog
I have "joined the club" of the many before me who have left LJ for another site. I am not deleting this blog b/c there are too many years of memories on here I would somehow like to record, or at least be able to look back on. And in procrastination, I will likely continue to check in here now and then. Until then, I'm hoping to start blogging ( Read more... ) -
Life and Death in a Small Town
Tragedy has struck at home, and 20-year-old Alex Nelson has passed away in a car accident while his two friends who were with him walked away. Everyone is really shaken up, and I think my sister Alicia stated well why this is so hard on all of us, no matter how close we were or weren't to him:

I've been chosen to be one of 100 people chosen to be a part of "Oprah's Great American Haircut"!!! Dreaming of the Chicago Cubs
I had a dream last night that when the Cubs lost on Saturday, I sadly gave up hope and agreed, as any fan would, that "Next Year is our Year!" Only to realize several weeks later that I should have kept watching... b/c contrary to my belief that it was best of 5, it was best of 7. I love my new field ed, Holy Covenant UMC - and I don't even begin in an official capacity until tomorrow! There are lots of reasons for this, but our opening song in worship today reminded me of one of many ways this church is unique and wonderful.
