I luxuriated here at the homestead by myself for the past three days. The husband took off to San Francisco to be with his friends and the young’in left to be with his mom for the extended weekend. Thanksgiving morning I headed out to go swimming only to find my car battery was dead. It took AAA nearly two hours to come out and jump it but by then ( Read more... )

What I enjoyed most was at the end of each story the author Ted Chiang comments on how the story originated in his imagination, what did he see, read or hear that influenced him. There are nine stories total and I've listened to four so far. It's kind of heady stuff, I don't really enjoy much sci-fi/fantasy but I'm liking this one because it's very comprehendible. I especially like the one time-travel story he wrote about, it was original.

Yeah, just make sure the dog is trained to move to the side when he/she is hauling the humanoid down sidewalks. This kid was moving fast.

That video is fun! Made me want to do mine - except that indeed I don't do videos daily... with today being december 1st, I can start ... :)

Get the app. 1SE - 1 Second a Day. It does all the work for you. You only need to record really short clips from your phone and the app will stitch it together for you. You post amazing photos, it would be fun to see a montage of your month.

I loved this--the variety, and the warmth!

Are you paying for the app? There is a 2 week free trial and then it's $4/month. Not that I can't afford that, but question my discipline.

Warmth. What a compliment. Thank you.

I saw the Pro version as $2.49 per month and bought twelve months for like $30. I figured it'll force me to participate and after one year, I'll be done!

*smile* thank you, I enjoyed piecing it together, remembering those days. It's sort of becoming a diary w/o words for me.
