Hmmm, next time you're in the area would you mind if I did a "space test" on your car? I could set Ian's old rear facing car seat in the back and see how much leg room that leaves the front.
Those are the 5 speed automatic 4 cylinder engines in both. The FIT has a 1.5L, the Civic a 1.8L. Based on what TB has said, if you want "get into traffic" power, the Civic sounds like it would have it. Perhaps a test drive comparison of the two would be worthwhile.
If you're interested in a "Sport" badge, the FIT Sport gets a mere 31/37, AVG 34, mileage. That's not too bad.
