Off topic, so which Japanese teacher at Murdoch did you annoy?

Well, who knows. I'm not going to go into any names on a public forum. It was the old department head that I asked for a reference from - and its only speculation that he gave me a bad reference. I'm still not even sure that the other person I asked for a reference from even sent it in....

This feeling that I'd been blacklisted came about when I went to talk to one of my teachers about doing honours - he was frankly hostile. It wasn't a case of "how can we help you" but "you're not good enough".

Heck... perhaps I wasn't good enough at that point. But I had the drive and the talent. His reproach was irresponsible.

I did Japanese at Murdoch (at this beginning of this decade) too and there was a male teacher there that I felt a similar way about - who knows it may have been the same guy!
