Retirement.
Most of my friends dont even know the word. I try and talk about it and it's the same "I'm too young to think about it.... I dont make enough... Retire????.... Or, ill think about it in ten years."

It only takes money.
two of my biggest expenses during the month are gas and electricity.
I can only cut back so far on their use, but what if I did some upgrades? I have blown insulation in my attic, I want to lay down some rolled insulation then cover it with ply wood. That should save me a bit on heating and cooling. Id also like to have somebody come out and take a ( Read more... ) -
Financial freedom
I've mentioned before the desires to make a system that generates revenue for me with little or no help from me once the system is started.
lets assume I can make 3% annually on my money. (thats low balling) how much would I need to generate say 100,000$ a year?
About $3.3m.
So, im effectivly set once I can make 3.3m but THATS not easy.

Time.
Monday to friday there are 120 hours. 40 of which you work (more than that if you count lunch hour and drive time... Also assuming no second job) 40 of which you sleep (well, your supposed to anyways) that leaves 1/3 of the work week to get things done and do what you want to do. Thats a shitty deal.

Tracking money.
So I just noticed why my account is lower than I thought it should be. I paid my electric bill twice. Over paying by nearly 350$.
I need to find a better method of paying bills.

Saving money
In an effort to save money I've decided to stop going out to bars as often as I do. And when I do I'm cutting back. Also, I think I'm going to try and start cutting my lunch cost down. I eat out for lunch every day. I'm sure I could eat a lot cheaper and healthier if I ate at my parents or brought my own food. Also, I haven't smoked a cigar in ( Read more... ) -
Investing
So, in an effort to make more money, I'm seriously contemplating diving into the stock market. Or perhaps a better way to put it. In an effort to keep up with inflation. Money sitting in a bank only delivers .5% (saving acnt) a CD doesn't do much better. Only problem is I need a fair ammount of money to make money... Not a small problem.

Money out
Lets take a look at the monthly outflow of cash.
Mortgage: 655$, phone 30$, daycare 450, electric 150 (swings, but thats the avg), water 60, trash 15, home alarm 50, gas 180ish, cable 45, food 400 (ish). Reducing expenses.
So I spend a lot of money every month. Couple that with a fixed income, and the numbers suck.
Just between my mortgage and daycare I spend more than 1k a month. Add food, phone, electric, gas, car and house upkeep, water, insurance, and cable to the mix and its mostly gone. saving money becomes difficult.
