Arthur Jackson was born on a farm near Jonesville, S.C., in 1911, and grew up sharing a one-room log cabin with his parents and 5 brothers and sisters. I drove into North Portland today. I’ve never really been up there before just for the hell of it, or just to explore until today. I drove along the Willamette river cliff sides which overlooks the confusing factories and ship yards. I saw huge cranes lifting and loading boxes onto ships, then unloading the boxes onto long graffitied trains. ( Read more... )
