Happy Birthday to Moonette, Grand Duchess of Flangst

Jun 17, 2009 04:38

Although we won't be jaunting around the British Isles in the Magical Mystery Tour Bus until it has become Friday, Pacific Daylight Time, we can begin to wish our dear stiletto-shod friend fortuitous encounters with handsome scarred men and unnatural twists of fate that complicate relationships and plots ( Read more... )

I've got my days wrong. I thought it was tomorrow! I look forward to the bus trip.

Actually, it is tomorrow already in your time zone, but Moonette has to celebrate (?) her daughters being out of school for our summer holiday. I'll do a post fairly early Friday Pacific Daylight Time, but usually visit my daughter and buy the Five Dollar Friday Meal Deal from the grocers that morning.

I think it's still today for another hour and a bit!

I have a question: How does the bus tour work logistically? Do you post on your journal and then everyone comments? I haven't done something like this before, so I need the remedial instructions. ;)

I'm going to TRY to participate, but am busy all day Friday and have a wedding on Saturday afternoon, so I might only be able to apparate in for a bit on Saturday morning. ;)

Our parties are varied in form. The most common one is at a location chosen by whoever has appointed herself as the party planner. For example, my party last November, planned by Annette, moonette1, was at a villa in Tuscany and featured a ghost with an unrequited love for me from many years ago when I was an actress. This one lasted more than two weeks because it also honored Sandy, crumpledhornki. and Hazel (who has a couple of names at lj). Some have been cookbooks, but most of them are a battle between Fluff and Angst.

The party planner posts the first part of the story on her home page, and subsequent twists and turns are replies. Generally, Part II is started the following day, and Part III, if and when necessary.

the first party I went to was in some remote pub in England somewhere, there were dragons and random people and more than two Fred's and George's and I spent the whole time hugging the wall drinking with my newly stolen 'hot guy' and I didn't add to the storyline at all as I was trying to get my head around everything that was happening. It wasn't until the next party that I realised there is aboslutely no point trying to get your head around the 'plot' because no matter what happens StMags will write a brilliant reply that rebuts everything that has previously happened!

Truer words were never spoken.

I personally, think there should be a ban on Draco in leather pants and trying to ship St Margarets, but that's just me.

Thank you so much, Grandma Kate. I have to run to work now, but I'll be back to thank the others ASAP. Can't wait until the "tour". :D

Happy birthday, moonette1. Browns Hotel was a little dubious when I said I wanted to hide a gift-wrapped Scotsman in a kilt for you to find, but I'm working on it ...

I am sure Moonette would appreciate it if he emerged from her cake.

Happy birthday Moonette! Our tiny island is gearing up for the onslaught of the Magical Mystery Bus Tour. - there was definitely a uniformed police presence in the vicinity of King's Cross last night. Possibly even a team of firemen on standby.
