So who's seen the winning Paris Expo WCS skit, and what do you think? People have said in the past that skits at London Expo need to be better, but is that the sort of thing that you want to see?
Cosplay Cruise this wekend~ They're still selling tickets (if you haven't heard) on their website: www.cosplaycruise.co.uk

I imagine the Japanese will love it but I'm not convinced that sort of performing arts approach will go down that well with our current audiance demograph

The flowy wings/fabriconsticks were impressive, I've seen them before and have been wanting to see that sort of thing make it into cosplay but.. they really did little with them that wasn't just running back and forth. I do approve of things involving floaty fabric in general, they make for pretty pictures ;)
Obviously time and effort went in, decent coordination between them and something like that stands a chance of winning at an expo compared to a lot of what we usually get ;) but would I want to see more flouncing around semi randomly? Not really. Were they even specific characters?
It does on the other hand benefit from having no language boundaries :P
Tell you what I do want to see.. Figuring out how some of the quickchange artists outfits are constructed and having someone pull that off with cosplay XD I remember Yaya did something similar at the first ball but I think more of a skit/act/prancearound with 2+ changes would utterly level the crowd.

Looks like you're right, the wigs match the character art nicely, can't find those particular costumes but me looking for anything clamp-shaped is never going to end well ;)

pretty costumes from what can be seen in the vid. i'd say they won because of the "different" factor. tbh though, i've had a go with silk flags while i was in exeter (people played around with that sort of stuff in the park all the time) and ANYONE can make those things look impressive. you literally need to move them slightly and they look amazing and graceful. i guess my big question is are they contextually correct? or did they just add pretty to pretty to come up with pretty?
