Tough call between b and c. The reason I believe a is that I had a similar experience. I didn't want to die, but the description of lifting out of your body is exactly what I felt, only it really, really hurt, so I fought to get back in. For a long time afterwards I wished that I hadn't because I have no idea where I would have gone and I was curious.

It hurt?? It has happened to me more than once over the years, and it has never hurt me - just frightened me!

Just that one time. It was weird all round - I'd slept until 3pm that day and had about 18 hours sleep beforehand. It was a very peculiar time.
