It was a good trip, one of so many. Just you and me, zigzagging down the aisles, cartoonish sound effects for every hairpin turn or sudden reversal. You had just started saying hi to strangers, early and often and without prompting. I am torn between (1) the simple, aesthetic response, which is to only say how well-written this piece is, succeeding on many levels, emotional, sensory, intellectual, and (2) what a painful yet absolutely necessary confession it is, as a personal statement. Both of those comments pale in comparison with the plain truth that I am moved by your experience, and your telling of it. Thank you for giving us the truth, and for working on it, and telling it so very well.

This made me tear up. Like the cashier said, hang in there. I have friends who have autistic children, and if you keep working with him, you should see improvement.
