My dad's finally home, even though he has to be back at the hospital for his main operation early Monday morning. Along with the lesions on his kidney and artery, they confirmed my suspicion that he's had at least two TIA's (mini-strokes). They're skipping the pacemaker and the tests for tomorrow. Cardiology's going to sign off on his surgery Monday because the angiogram showed a lesion on one of the arteries that may be causing the problem. It's too small for a shunt, so they've decided to try treating it with medicine while keeping an eye on it. He may be released tomorrow. Of ( Read more... )

I spent my morning off calling my uncles to let them know what happened and that I'd either have my father call them this evening or call them myself with updates. Talk about a reality trip. I'm not looking forward to ever doing that again.

The Lady Lex (USS Lexington) is on Ghost Hunters. I had the pleasure of boarding her when she was decommissioned and heard all about her stories when I was a kid.

Don't they edit on-line articles? Despite the trite content that passes as news today, don't they go over these things with a fine-toothed comb anymore? Everyday, article after article, I find words misspelled, grammatical mistakes, structural faux pas and even entire sentences awkwardly repeated. Even AP has an overabundance of these errors.
