Butterflies

So, I set free three of my butterflies today. I didn't want to set them free because I want to use their beautiful corpses in my art. I had thought, "oh they're just bugs, they should be content to live their lives out in a warm cage with plenty of food". Really? Aww, I didn't spend long on it. Could have been better written, just wanted to record the experience. The butterflies all have tattered wings from their violent attempts to escape. :(

Their eyes turn a solid red-black color after they have been dead a few days. When they are alive their eyes are amazing, like a crystal with many facets cut across it, and you can see some sort of specs on the back of their eye. It seems their eyes are clear, not opaque like ours, so you can see through to the inside.

I feel bad for the crippled one, I should have tried to feed him.
