After having gone 22 years without ever going to an airport I've now been to one 5 times in two weeks.

Take that world travelers!

To illustrate just how tired I am, I just said that I had been in school for longer than I've actually been alive.

I'm about to pull my first all-nighter in 22 and a half years of schooling. Words are rapidly losing all meaning to me.

Today was my second day on the aptly named Crimson Ride. Yesterday's ride was fairly uneventful. It kind of sucked having fifteen minutes tacked onto my time on campus for each ride back and forth but it was relatively simple and painless so I didn't mind much. I think I'm going crazy. All I can hear in my room now is the noise my fan makes. It's this constant thumping sound. It's like The Tell-Tale Heart only with a fan. I have to take sleeping pills just to get to sleep because if I turn the fan off it gets too hot and I wake up in the middle of the night. I never noticed the noise before but one ( Read more... )

I found the Democratic Debate this evening to be mildly disturbing. It's the first debate I've watched in its entirety and I found myself forming impressions of the candidates that I wasn't really expecting. For example, Barack Obama, whose prepared speeches and writings are all very eloquent and insightful came off as rambling. He seemed more ( Read more... )

And now I'm going back to Huntsville for a couple of weeks. I expect to accomplish much reading. And I also expect to remember why I hate our dog. (Unless no one else is around...)

I'm going on a spur of the moment beach trip.

And I don't even like the beach that much. But if I'm going to be stuck in 90 degree weather, I'd rather it be at the beach than in Tuscaloosa. There's less trains at the beach.
