Liveblogging the Oscars. Let there be no wins for Casey Affleck! Or for Mel Gibson, if it comes to that, although I don't think Hacksaw Ridge is really a serious contender for much of anything.

Edit: I was in fact still watching when The Surprising Thing happened, but had shut down my computer so it's not included in the liveblog.

I was actually still watching, but was shutting down my computer for the night (it's a Sad Old Man Computer, it needs a while to get settled) when the twist happened. Good Lord.

Thanks for the wonderful notes! FYI - The Best Picture ended up being "Moonlight." Warren Beatty read the card wrong or something, which created quite a kerfuffle that will go down in the record books with Steve Harvey and Dewey.
