Fourth Lantern - [Action/Written]

Mar 30, 2011 22:03

[Well, John woke up this morning looking like a monkey. With flaming hair. This is a rather unusual thing for him. Although the only sounds he made were screeches, he could still wear his Green Lantern ring like this. His willpower had not waned so at the very least he could work, if not communicate verbally. [Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird, it's a plane, it's - well, it's Katara. Having a ball. It's a strange mixture of elation and terror, and she's flying mostly over the river just in case whatever happened that made her this way stops while she's flying.

Flying.

This. Is. The. Best.]

[He's flying a bit higher when he spots her down below. He recognizes those clothes, but not the wings. He really can't communicate though, she he starts flying a bit lower to keep an eye on her. She might eventually notice his shadow or reflection in the river.]

[Moving through air with wings is kind of like swimming - broad strokes and infinite possibilities - and so when Katara sees that shadow skimming along the water, all she does is flip over, so that she is now 'swimming on her back' - in the air.

...whatever she was expecting to see, it wasn't that.]

[He intends to answer her with something to relax her and say who he is. What comes out is some nonsensical screeching and other monkey-like sounds. He stops soon after. At least when he turned into Old Yeller, he could still talk!]

[...You people and your thinking Pokémon are just media.]

Well, yeah, sure, if you've been livin' under a rock. Pokémon's way more than a TV show!

I don't pay much attention to that kind of thing. I take it they're from your world?

Dear Small White Monkey:

Are you the sort of monkey what dies when shot?

Sincerely,

JS

John:

How inconvenient, as my monkey was looking for a companion.

[. . . . . .

This makes the elemental's hovering through the woods come to a halt.]

< I would wager that is a joke, Mr. Stewart. In more normal circumstances. >

[he looks up at... whatever she is, curious and intrigued. he doesn't quite realize who she is. his response is written in the ground... literally. a burst of light comes from his ring to create illuminated writing in the dirt.]

These are hardly normal, Miss.

[She is able to see the iluminated writing in the dirt through her position, and can't help but nod in agreement. So she floats towards the source. And finds the offending product of the laws of biology.

The winds around the air elemental turn stiller. Evidence that, despite her current form, she still had an idea of what was normal in her world and what was not.]

< Touché. > [The winds slowly resume their movement.] < I don't think I've seen these on any colony, sir... >

I've been told I'm an 'Infernape'.

[Even on a simian face, it's clear how utterly unamused he is at both the situation and the groan worthiness of such a pun-filled name. Still, he's eying her curiously and trying to make out what she is supposed to be.]
