i was happy to look at my friends list this morning and see a post from greensparkles! woooo!!! but anyway. your schedule sounds um.. fun? lol. i don't think i could take physics and calculus and programming, ever, because i'm not that smart. and especially not together lol. you should make a movie with your alternate storyline, i'll go see it!!
hey. I was thinking the exact same thing about movies the other day. Great minds think alike. I was noticing how in these movies it is usually the man that is too caught up about material things, and usually never the woman? I think a more generalized version of the story line is: Man is immoral, and has no values, yet he will preach some sort of values to someone else. Then, he realizes that he is not going by what he says. He reforms himself, and of course, gets the girl. Sometimes it's not necessarily family oriented. Why this is such a popular story line is another issue. I would assume that since most humans are hypocritical bastards, it is nice to see stories about those who realize what they are doing, considering it never happens in real life.
haha! it seems no one would appreciate stories about people who realize things then. i guess except those who do. realize things themselves that is. hmm...confusing self.
I found my first programming class (which is supposed to be the second in our sequence.. I skipped the intro to C and went right into intro to C++) to be very easy, although I did not take it at Penn State.
I had rostered for Physics, Programming, and Calc 1 my first semester too. It's managable as long as you make sure you stay on top of everything.
I ended up withdrawing from Physics because I didn't show up for any of the labs and it didn't fit the requirements for an EE major I was considering, getting an A in Comp Sci because I rock, and a B in Calc 1 because the curve was very kind to me. :)
thanks for the advice. i think i'm going to start with penn state's intro to c++ class too. yes you do rock! ;-) maybe i can get an a in comp sci and then i'd rock too...
Hmmm.... Because I've been here before, I feel nearly obligated to give you my advice.
If you truly think you can handle tough classes, go for it. It's easier to drop than to add late. (i.e. it's impossible to add late. I have twice signed up for 18 hours knowing full well that I would probably drop 3 each time.) Do not take all the college/university requirements first. I'm all for getting a "fun" class each semester, but all my fun classes (sophomore level as a freshman, etc., ironically) have left my last to years virtually nothing but hardcore major-specific requirements and a few electives, few of which I find appealing. (And if that's not freaky enough for you, my "fun" classes were philosophy, psychology, and logic.)
And hey: if you want to look at it this way, taking calc and physics at the same time will keep you sharp in both classes with (relatively) less work. ;-)

the problem is that i dunno what i can handle yet. i will have a much better idea the next time i have to pick courses.
good point about calc and physics...i hadn't thought of that.
