I did not know that hard drives have a maximum operational altitude. Apparently they require sufficient air pressure to keep the disks separate enough. Now I know.

Did you have to find out the hard way? And if you did have to findout the hard way how hard?

No, fortunately I did not have to learn the hard way. I'm in Tibet right now, and my iPod-equiped friends are, let us say, no longer iPod equiped. I'm so happy I brought my mp3 CD player instead of my mp3 hard drive player.

I think there might have been a footnote on a page somewhere, but no one ever notice those footnotes, right?

BTW, I emailed the company of my product, and they say that they haven't done maximum operational altitude tests. I wonder ....
