Wow thats a great story,I am actually the daughter of Jimmy Heair and Sherry Heair,,my name is Hannah Heair,,I have been trying to get dad to talk to some people and get his story out there for everyone to see and hear. I havn't talked him into it yet because he always talks about how they change the story around and how it never tells the truth. I have been considering giving him a call also to talk about old times. I'd be lucky to remember many details considering my age back then. I looked at a few of the boxing discussion forums and there is at least one writer for cyberboxing that may have interest in filling in details of his career.

I was searching through the internet looking for Jimmy. Then I found your website. When I was 14 years old I walked into a boxing gym, in Hamilton Alabama, for the first time ever. And as Jimmy recounted the story from his side, he told me that he saw this short fat kid (me) walk into his gym. He said his intentions was to beat me up so I wouldn't come back. I was short, and I was fat; I was all wrong for boxing, so he thought. I admit, he pummeled me the first few sparring matches. But becuase I wanted to box more than anything, I hung in there. After that, me and Jimmy had more than just a boxer/trainer relationship; we have a friendship. My name is Daniel Lucas and I am one of many that he has trained. He has not only been an encouragement to me inside of the ring, but outside as well. Due to circumstances, I moved off and haven't spoken to Jimmy in awhile. I think it is wonderful to have someone acknowledge him and his life story. Maybe you can contact him soon.

Hello Greg and Michaela. I took a trip about three weeks ago, during the week of Halloween. I got to catch up with Jimmy. I was thrilled to get to talk to him again. I plan on calling him tomorrow sometime. He is really a special person. I hold him very dear in my heart. I will let him know you have been wondering about him. Shalom.
