And the award for lame absence goes to...

I'm referring, of course, to the 48-50 vote against cloture for the FMA.
Yes, I'm thrilled. For now, anyway. But back to the lame part--Specifically the missing two votes. You guessed it--Edwards and Kerry. Deeply, deeply lame.

Not surprising, however.

Politically slimy in that they don't actually have to take a stand on this issue and risk alienating voters. However, in the news report I heard, they were quoted as saying that they would vote on an actual amendment, rather than a proposal for one (which I guess this was).

Silly Jesse! But of course I remember who you are. *grin* and if I didn't before, the bellydancing would have fixed that good and proper.

Yay for random LJ wanderings.

*grin* And feel free to land on me anytime :)

Hmmmm....Mr. Adams seems to think it is possible to fall but miss the ground. So, landing is optional? Anyway, what steamy secrets have you lurking in the innermost depths of this journal? Are these "locked" writings produced in abundance? Jesse

*laugh* not very many steamy secrets in my journal yet. I'll add you to the "sexy stuff" filter though, and you can peruse the exactly one post i've managed so far :)

the cockeyed optimist that i didn't know i had buried inside wonders if it is more about not having your opponent able to make political hay out of it--which is the flip side of alienating voters, i know--but in essence removes it as a talking point. since the whole point of the exercise was to *make* it a talking point in elections (experts say that it was in no danger of passing and results bear that out), it does take the wind out of the republican sails a bit.

yes, yes, my expectations are dramatically reduced. they still will get my vote.
