Oooh, maybe I will get called out by name. That would be fun!
If they paid for hotel rooms THROUGH JC, as they were sold in their store, that would be up to JC to refund. Still a good idea to call the hotel.
If they booked directly with the Sheraton, they need to call and cancel. Either Phone: (617) 236-2000 the whole hotel directly or 1-800-325-3535. I'd suggest the hotel directly.
I believe the Sheraton charges a penalty if you don't cancel within 24-48 hours of check in. I'm seeing 24 hours for non-pre paid on the site. I would imagine this would most certainly be waived in this case.
No matter how you booked the room the best suggestion is to double check your reservation to make sure you can cancel or if JC booked it if you have a room at all.
Also from past experience call the hotel directly not the 800 they might have for the chain.
If you are going and staying and using a debit card double check to see if they are charging a hospitallity type fee (typically can run $50-100 per person).
I am concerned about the other events. A friend was contacted Sunday by Shane to change her ticket from Montgomery to Atlanta or Houston. So does this announcement, as well as postponing the rest mean all will end being canceled? Gotta wonder. Just can't see a lot of the stars sticking around for this!
Even tho we've blasted him (Shane) the guy has to feel really bad about this.
Oh Wow--that really , really sucks, even if you could see it coming. You totally rock for reporting all of this BTW, if not, a lot of people would have been blind-sided..at least now there's a chance for the fans who already have tickets to make plans and get together...I hope you have fun in Boston regardless! It is an awesome city :)
