I can relate to that returning to childhood feeling. Although I haven't been anywhere in particular, my parents are preparing to move and every time I go up there I am overwhelmed with memories. Those odd memories that aren't really anything in particular except a feeling, and sometimes a scent or smell, and that moment in which you are convinced you are a child again. The older I get, the sadder those moments make me feel.
How long were you in the UK for? I haven't been able to work it out, you said 'grad school' but I'm not sure what that means - is that the same as university / college? Or is it after? Forgive my horrible ignorance :-) in Australia we just have school and then university, and you can do under-graduate university and then post-graduate university at various levels...depending on how much of your life you want to remain studying!
The returning to childhood feeling has been really nice, as long as I don't think about it in context with getting older.
Ha, yeah, I suppose my online timeline does seem rather skewed. I was in grad school for the past year, which is the same as post-graduate university. Usually it's 2 years in the States, but it was only 1 year at the uni I went to in the UK. However, I'm planning on moving back to the UK in a month. :)
Somehow reading about your family always warms my heart; I know your relationship with them is complicated but there is a closeness and warmth about it even when you write about them that is very touching.
That's great about the celebs, did you actually speak to Morgan? I don't think I'd dare to go up to someone and speak to them even if I wanted to, although I don't see many celebs anyway!
Despite the pecularilty you mentioned, you're sounding happy, and I'm glad <3
Thank you. <3 We are really close, and it is complicated and amazing and I'm so grateful for them. :)
Y'know, I did go speak to Morgan. I just walked up to him, said, 'I'm sure you get this all the time, but are you...Morgan Spurlock?' He said yes, I told him I loved 'Super-Size Me,' and that I showed my dad, who works in education, the bit about school food, which I thought was brilliant. He grinned really wide and said that was awesome. I asked what he was up to, h mentioned his new show, I said I'd check it out, and it was a pleasure to meet him. He was a very nice, polite fellow. I was nervous to go talk to him, but I knew if I didn't I'd regret it. Plus it was easier since I'm not a huge Morgan fan. If it had been Johnny Depp, well, I'd probably have been a puddle on the floor! ;)
Wow! You've got balls, I never would have dared. It's great that you did speak to him though, and that he was happy to talk. Celebrities who complain about fans speaking to them annoy me a bit, surely that's what they sign up for? :P
