Aaargh, toothache.

My remaining front tooth has decided that it's going to act up -- this morning it was fine, but some twelve hours later even the slightest touch is agonising (more so than the constant pain).  I can't bite at all, because the tooth beneath it pushes against it, so can't eat.  I have an appointment with a dentist on Thursday afternoon for an ( Read more... )

Oww. :( Here's hoping it'll all be fixed soon.

If the tooth has to be removed, could you get an implant?

I'm missing four teeth already, including the other front tooth. Implants would be awfully expensive, and take several months to do (drill, insert titanium pin, wait for healing to take place, add tooth), and I'm fairly sure Work and Income wouldn't shell out hundreds or thousands of dollars for a single tooth. Although, they might consider a lack of front teeth to be a hindrance to employment (because who'd hire someone who has a huge gap in their teeth) and perhaps pay more. I've no idea.
