Latest round of Coffee has gone out.
Just a little advisory -
These are fresh roasted beans - NOT grounds. These are about 7 oz bags in this round. Darker Roast.
My Packing Gremlins made these packs a little tightly wrapped. The Vacuum Bags they are sealed in are contained in the outer mailng wrapper with a good amount of tape to prevent leaking ( Read more... )

Your packing gremlins are evil! But I defeated them. Ha ha! It took some serious work to get through the tape, but once I got through enough to get to the wrapper, it was easy to cut and slide out.

Thank you thank you thank you! And thank you thank you to your dad! I can't wait to try it this weekend!

edit added above to post -
The Vacuum Bags are sealed and set with a resealable ziploc top. The best way to use/reuse them is to get out what you need and close the bag. The vacuum can be reset by placing the mouth on the one-way seal and sucking briefly and it pulls the air out. This keeps it safe from humidity and air. It makes it unnecessary to put in fridge/freezer. This is good since frozen beans tend to get wet and lose some taste.

I would love to try one of the dark roasts. Where is all the coffee coming from?

A good secret (from one coffee addict to another) if anyone has a difficult time opening the packs and the vacuum pack doesn't stay sealed, place the coffee in a tightly sealed tupperware dish and place it in the refrigerator so it will stay fresh longer. Coffee is a bean and contains oil, so it should always be treated as fresh food once it is open:)

My dad is a "Home Roaster" of note and on the board of a couple local Clubs/Communities. We get the beans shipped/imported directly and roast them here at the house. The blends currently going out are beans blended from batches from East Africa (Kenya, Ethiopia, and Uganda). Each roasted independently and then blended to a mix we try to balance.

I have a bag here for you if you want to try it. I am in your area again this Friday. I was there on Monday, but worked too late to call. It is also possible to meet at other times, just buzz the cell. :)

I tried again to email you with my cell number so you could call and we could meet if you want. Most of the coffee I mail out is actually local, so it is no problem to do that if you want. Either way, just call or email and we can set a time/place/method.

I tried your cell. Will try again. I can meet or mail (most of the mailings are local already).

Also side note - I saw your name on the DC room waitinglist. Are you still looking? We might have one, but I am still workgin out finer details.

I received my coffee yesterday. Interestingly, I was going that evening to visit friends who *love* coffee. We used their burr grinder (which I need to buy for myself) and their french press (got one of those).

Awesome.

Thank you so very much for sharing with me!!! The rest will be shared with other friends this weekend.
